The newly appointed 40-year-old Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Mr Abdulrasheed Bawa has been confirmed by the upper chamber of the Nigerian parliament earlier today.
The National Assembly through the Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan, announced the confirmation of Mr Bawa on Wednesday at plenary a two-hour questioning session.
Mr Abdulrasheed Bawa who during the plenary debunked stories that had been in the public since the announcement of his appointment by the presidency, first which was that he had been arrested and charged before by the EFCC for corruption charges, to this Mr Bawa said that is false and before my appointment had nothing of such blemish to my person.
The second allegation levied against him was that he had helped the EFCC sell some properties in the past, he denied this also, saying he had never had any financial dealings with the anti-graft agency.
