Hushpuppi Changes Plea, Pleads Guilt To Charges

Embattled Nigerian big boy and socialite Ramon Olorunwa Abass, popularly known as Ray Hushpuppi or Hushpuppi has changed his earlier plead, pleading guilty to the charge of conspiracy to engage in money laundering.

Recall that Hushpuppi was arrested back in May, 2020 in an Operation Fox Hunt carried out by Dubai Police and is currently facing multiple charges of money laundering, fraud and cyber crime. Earlier, he had pleaded not guilty to some of these charge.Hushpuppi Changes Plea, Pleads Guilt To ChargesA new document which surfaced, however, stated that Hushpuppi has now changed his plead, and is pleading guilty to the the charge, and has agreed to give up the right to indictment by a grand jury, appear and plead guilty to count two of the case between he and the United States, not to contest facts agreed to in the document and to abide by all agreements regarding sentencing contained in the document.

1. This constitutes the plea agreement between defendant RAMON OLORUNWA ABBAS, also known as (“aka.) “Ray Hushpuppi,. aka “Hush,. (“defendant.), and the United States Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California (“the USAC.) in the above-captioned case. This agreement is limited to the USAC and cannot bind any other federal, state, local, or foreign prosecuting, enforcement, administrative, or regulatory authorities.Hushpuppi Changes Plea, Pleads Guilt To Charges
DEFENDANT’S OBLIGATIONS
2. Defendant agrees to:
a. Give up the right to indictment by a grand jury and, at the earliest opportunity requested by the 0000 and provided by the Court, appear and plead guilty to Count Two of the Information in United States v. Ramon Olorunwa Abbas, Case No. 2:20-CR-00322-000, which charges defendant with Conspiracy to Engage in Money Laundering, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1956(h).
b. Not contest facts agreed to in this agreement.
c. Abide by all agreements regarding sentencing contained in this agreement.

d. Agree that all court appearances, including his change of plea hearing and sentencing hearing, may proceed by video-teleconference (“VTC”) or telephone, if VTC is not reasonably available, so long as such appearances are authorized by Order of the Chief Judge 20-043 or another order, rule, or statute. Defendant understands that, under the United States Constitution, the United States Code, and the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure (including Rules 11, 32, and 43), he may have the right to be physically present at these hearings. Defendant understands that right and, after consulting with counsel, voluntarily agrees to waive it and to proceed remotely. Defense counsel also joins in this consent, agreement, and waiver. Specifically, this agreement includes, but is not limited to, the following:
i. Defendant consents under Section 15002(b) of the CARES Act to proceed with his change of plea hearing by VTC or telephone, if VTC is not reasonably available.Hushpuppi Changes Plea, Pleads Guilt To Charges
ii. Defendant consents under Section 15002(b) of the CARES Act to proceed with his sentencing hearing by VTC or telephone, if VTC is not reasonably available.
iii. Defendant consents under 18 U.S.C. § 3148 and Section 15002(b) of the CARES Act to proceed with any hearing regarding alleged violations of the conditions of pretrial release by VTC or telephone, if VTC is not reasonably available.
e. Appear for all court appearances, surrender as ordered for service of sentence, obey all conditions of any bond, and obey any other ongoing court order in this matter.

f. Not commit any crime; however, offenses that would be excluded for sentencing purposes under United States Sentencing Guidelines (“U.S.S.G.” or “Sentencing Guidelines”) § 4A1.2(c) are not within the scope of this agreement.
g. Be truthful at all times with the United States Probation and Pretrial Services Office and the Court.
h.
