Nigerian singer Olarenwaju Fasasi more popularly known as Sound Sultan is dead. Stories earlier in the year broke that the singer had been diagnosed with throat cancer. 
Veteran Nigerian musician, Sound Sultan, loses battle to cancer. The Nigerian entertainment industry is in mourning as the veteran singer, Olanrewaju Ganiu Fasasi aka Sound Sultan passes on.

According to his brother, Dr. Kayode Fasasi, in a statement, Sultan passed on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at the age of 44 after a battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma.

The deceased had been undergoing chemotherapy in a hospital in Texas in the United States of America.
Though his older brother Baba Dee did come out debunk the story saying his brother is sick but wasn’t undergoing chemotherapy yet at the time.
His demise was announced in a statement by his family on Sunday.
