American singer Demi Lovato has claimed that gender reveal parties are Transphobic. The singer in a post shared on her social media page explained to her followers that it is ‘insincere’ to not see the celebrations as excluding trans people.
The parities are a trend when parents-to-be pop pink or blue balloons filled with glitter to announce the sex of their child months before the birth. The 28-year-old encouraged her followers to share the information on a nine-page post. In the Instagram post Demi explained that Gender reveals are based on the illusion that genitals equals gender and that there are only two options ‘boy or girl. Mixed reactions have however trailed the singer’s post on social media.
