Luis Suarez And Arturo Vidal Ordered To Train Alone By Barcelona As Club Begins Clear-out

Luis Suarez and Arturo Vidal have been forced to train away from the rest of the squad at Barcelona as they near moves to Serie A.

Suarez has agreed terms over a move to Juventus, while Vidal is expected to move to Inter Milan as Barcelona go through a substantial restructuring under new manager Ronald Koeman.

The Uruguayan striker still has a year left on his contract at the Camp Nou and he still needs to come to an agreement to be let out of the agreement before moving to Turin.

After Lionel Messi made a dramatic U-turn on his plans and has decided to stay at Barcelona there was a suggestion that Suarez may now also stay put, but that looks highly unlikely.

Suarez and Vidal have been told to train alone, only with a physio, at the club while the rest of the squad train together.

It looks that despite Messi’s change of heart, his close friend Suarez has not made a similar U-turn.

Vidal also has a year left on his contract at Barcelona but is being allowed to terminate it early and move to Inter on a free transfer as he is also unwanted under the new Koeman regime.

The Chilean will reunite with manager Antonio Conte after the pair worked together at Juventus and they will strive to haul their former club in at the top of Serie A.

There are set to be further exits from Barcelona this summer with every player in the squad available for transfer at the right price, barring Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Clement Lenglet and Frankie De Jong.

Veteran defender Gerard Pique told Movistar after the 8-2 thrashing at the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League: ‘The club needs changes and I’m not talking about the coach, about the players. I don’t want to point at anyone. Structurally we need changes of all kinds, because it is neither the first, nor the second nor the third time.

‘The first one to volunteer will be me, if new blood has to come in and change this dynamic I will be the first to go, to step aside. Now we have hit rock-bottom. I think we all have to look and reflect internally and decide what is best for Barca, which is the most important thing.’Photo Credit: Getty
