Lagos Driver Knocks Down Police Official Attached To LASTMA

Another Lagos State driver has knocked down an official of the law, and this time a Police officer over a bridge.
This is coming close to a month after the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency LATSMA lost one of its officials, Samson Akinmade, who was not only knocked down but dragged along by the vehicle  at Demurin Street junction inwards Mile 12.LASTMA OfficialsIn a series of tweets via which the LASTMA reacted to the video of the incidence which has now gone viral, the agency wrote, “Following this plea by the @gm_lastma, a motorist who flouted the law on the Bridge heading towards Airport Road thereby driving against the flow of traffic knocked over the bridge a police officer attached to the LASTMA Enforcement Unit”.

Noting that the driver has been arrested and will be charged, LASTMA added, “
while trying to resist and escape arrest (as evidenced by the trending video). He was eventually apprehended and would be arraigned in court today, Thursday, 25th February, 2021. These are some of the dangers faced by our officers daily while trying to enforce the law”.
