‘We Are Going To Try And Beat Him’ – Kylian Mbappe Fires Warning To Edinson Cavani Ahead of PSG’s Clash with Manchester United

Kylian Mbappe has sent his best wishes to Edinson Cavani following the veteran striker’s move to Old Trafford but insists their friendship will be put on hold when Paris Saint-Germain face Manchester United in the Champions League.

PSG kick off their European campaign at home to the Red Devils on Tuesday night and Thomas Tuchel’s men will be desperate to send out a message after falling at the final hurdle last term.

The French champions have gone on a five-match winning streak after a pair of worrying defeats in their two opening games of the Ligue 1 season and will fancy their chances against a United side who have also endured a mixed start.

Cavani, PSG’s all-time record scorer with 200 goals, was unable to feature as United came from behind to beat Newcastle this weekend but could make his debut against his former club in the French capital.

Asked whether it will feel weird facing his former team-mate, PSG forward Mbappe said: ‘Not at all, he is in a different team now, I wish him the best. We are going to play against him and try to beat him.’

Cavani says it will be a ‘beautiful’ moment if he does make his debut against PSG next week.

‘I am going to experience an exceptional moment, that nobody thought would happen,’ he said.

‘It will be an incredible thing, beautiful emotions.

The Uruguay international added: ‘I had a lot of different opportunities, I was excited to play in the Premier League and even more so for Manchester United.

‘I am very motivated because I always want to play as much as possible, work, train and give the best of myself.’
