Melania Trump has echoed her husband Donald’s unfounded claims that the Presidential election was stolen from him.
The First Lady broke her silence following Joe Biden’s election win to imply that the President-elect had received illegal votes.
She tweeted: “The American people deserve fair elections. Every legal – not illegal – vote should be counted. We must protect our democracy with complete transparency.”

On election day Melania also showed support for her husband by going out to vote in Morton and Barbara Mandel Recreation Center in Palm Beach, Florida while not wearing a face mask.
The day after Biden and his vice-president Kamala Harris delivered victory speeches in Delaware, the Trump campaign has continued to claim that the contest is not over.
At least seven lawsuits have been filed in battleground states contesting the counts. The Trump campaign has so far provided no definitive evidence of any voting irregularities.
Ahead of hitting the golf course this morning, Trump used his Twitter account to again repeat more unfounded claims that voter fraud had been widespread.
Yesterday he said in a statement: “I will not rest until the American People have the honest vote count they deserve and that Democracy demands.”
While the President’s inability to accept defeat could have been predicted, what Melania will do next is less clear.
Trump’s ex-aide Omarosa Manigault Newman has claimed the couple’s marriage is over.
She said: “Melania is counting every minute until he is out of office and she can divorce.
“If Melania were to try to pull the ultimate humiliation and leave while he’s in office, he would find a way to punish her.”
Melania is said to have burst into tears when her husband triumphed in 2016, with one friend saying: “She never expected him to win”.
