As the chants of End SARS intensifies with tweeps changing their usernames to same, the past few hours saw a more intense clamour for the release of singer Oxlade’s manager, Ojah Bee.
Recall that the singer got injured today during the protest in Surulere, while his manager Ojabodu Ademola, popularly known as Ojah Bee was arrested by the Nigerian Police Force, brutalised on the streets before dragged on the floor to the Police station.
OJABODU ADEMOLA IS HIS NAME…
That is my brother …..
that is me
That can be anyone
That is a citizen of Nigeria…. harmless Nigerian citizen…. pic.twitter.com/yEUbpXBJed— #freeojahbee (@oxladeofficial) October 12, 2020
5 other protesters were arrested alongside the singer’s manager and it took the intervention of the Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila, Governor Sanwo-Olu and many other lawyers to have them released. OjahBee was, however, transferred to Panti Police Station, Yaba, with the accusation of murdering the three Policemen who lost their lives when their colleagues opened fire.
.@PoliceNG, you cannot frame @ojahbee! There is a video evidence of how your untrained men at Area C Command shot at peaceful protesters and killed their own man in the process.

Tweeps wouldn’t let Sanwo-Olu and Gbajabiamila rest and the Speaker in turn reached out to Desmond Elliot, the Honourable representing Surulere Constituency. The cries on Twitter intensified, many more tweeps gather at the Police Statio and eventually, got the young man released. Giving an update, Oxlade stated in a tweet that OjaBee was badly tortured.
The protesters will be released tonight.
Their rights will not be violated. That, I assure you. https://t.co/XtM1hysek6

I gave a directive to the CP to effect the release of the arrested protesters and they have all been released. Every citizen has a right to protest peacefully.
No one will be violated for engaging in a peaceful protest.
