Artisanal brand, Nkwo has unveiled yet another solemn lookbook for its SS17 collection tagged “The Other World”. As times may seem to have changed as far as modern advancements are concerned, but not too much in tradition and the things we believe in and hold sacred that aren’t based on science or facts.
Those things, generally out of the ordinary such as deities; rites of passages; initiations—highly steeped in tradition—that found the creative director found most intriguing.
The collection, a capsule in size, boasts of a brilliant complexity with twists and turns that could only be likened to some of these unquestioned extra-ordinary rites the designer talks of.
While this collection’s treatment of cotton and denim is extra-ordinary in its right, it’s the meticulousness employed in conceptualization and execution that sets this collection miles ahead of its peers.
