Lagos City Marathon: Nigerians Lose Race To Kenyan Athletes

The 2020 annual Acess Bank Lagos City Marathon in conjunction with Lagos State government held today and Nigerians have lost both the male and female categories prizes to Kenyans.
Last year, Ethiopia’s Sintayehu Legese won the male catergory of the marathon, finishing with a time of 2:17:28. This year again, Nigerians still could not win and David Barmasai Tumo of Kenya took the first place with a finishing time of 2:10:23. His time is said to be 4 mins 41 seconds faster than Abraham Kiprotich’s record in 2018 and 7 minutes 5 seconds faster than Sintayehu’s.Lagos City Marathon: Nigerians Lose Race To Kenyan Athletes
For the female category, Kenya’s
Sharon Jemutai Cherop also finished first with a 2:31:40 time which is 6 mins 12 secs faster than Rodah Jpekorir’s record last year.
