KOKO Food: How To Grill Sumptuous Tilapia Fish In 15 Minutes

There is a certain level of deliciousness that comes with a grilled Tilapia fish. It is just the perfect one for you and it comes in handy. Especially on days you have impromptu visitors and you want to treat them to something nice.

Tilapia fish

This article is to take you through step by step procedure of making a perfectly grilled Tilapia in 15 minutes.

Kitchen Tools needed;

  • Processor/Blender
  • Oven
  • Baking tray/foil
  • Knife
  • kitchen bowls
  • Paper towel

Ingredients needed;

  • Tilapia Fish
  • Fresh Rosemary
  • Curry Powder
  • Salt
  • Crayfish Stock Powder
  • Green Chilli
  • Red Chilli
  • Onion
  • Ginger
  • Garlic
  • Scotch Bonnet
  • Vegetable oil
  • Dried Thyme

NOTE: The quantity of ingredients added is dependent on the size of the fish.

To marinate the Fish;

Ensure  the fish is neatly cleaned and all scales are removed.

Dry the fish with a paper towel if need be so as to get rid of excess moisture on the fish.

Use a sharp knife to make horizontal openings through the fish on both sides to make the seasoning enter into fish well.

Mix salt and crayfish powder together in a small bowl

Rub it on the fish thoroughly, so that all part of the fish is  well seasoned.

Set aside to marinate.

To make your Sauce; (If you have already made sauce stocked up in your freezer, you can skip this process.)

Blend your spring onions, onions, red chilli, green chilli, scotch bonnet, garlic and ginger together to make a paste.

Heat up a pan and add some vegetable oil (depending on how much your paste is)

Pour in the paste and allow to fry for few minutes

Season with curry powder, dried thyme, salt and cray fish powder seasoning.

Stir together and leave to cook for another 5 minutes

When the sauce is cooled down,

Rub it on your marinated fish thoroughly

Stuff some spring onions and fresh thyme in the cavity of fish for more seasoning

Place in a baking tray (In the absence of baking tray, use a foil and place in your oven)

Place Fish in pre-heated oven (high heat) 15 Minutes at 450 degrees Fahrenheit (cooking time depends on the size of the fish)

Your grilled fish is ready…….

You can take your grilled fish with Rice, Potatoes, Chips, Roasted plantain, any you feel like. You could also eat it alone with a chilled glass of any drink of you choice.
