iPhone 12 Launch: Apple Unveils Four New 5G Smartphones

It’s one of the most eagerly anticipated smartphones of 2020, and now Apple has finally unveiled the iPhone 12.

Apple unveiled four new iPhones at its ‘Hi Speed’ event – the iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

The iPhones range in size from the 5 .4-inch display iPhone 12 Mini to the hefty iPhone 12 Pro Max with a 6 .7-inch display.

Notably, the new iPhones all have 5G connectivity, marking the first time that Apple has launched a 5G smartphone.

Apple launched four new iPhones at the event, which range in size. The iPhone 12 Mini has a tiny 5 .4-inch display, while the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro have 6 .1-inch displays.

Finally, the iPhone 12 Pro Max is the largest of the four new smartphones, with a 6 .7-inch display.

All four new iPhones have 5G capabilities. Unlike its rivals, including Samsung, Huawei and OnePlus, Apple is one of the few tech giants yet to produce a 5G smartphone.

Cameras: The iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 feature a dual-lens rear camera, featuring a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 12MP wide lens.

In terms of cameras, the iPhone 12 Pro features a triple lens rear camera, with the three lenses organised in a square in the top left of the smartphone – 12MP Ultra Wide, 12MP Wide, 12MP Telephoto lens.

The iPhone 12 Pro Max takes things up a notch, with an all new sensor that’s 47% larger. This gives it an 87% improvement in low light.

Colours: The iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 come in black, blue, green, red and white.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max come in blue, gold, graphite and silver. Finally, Apple has introduced a new navy blue colour option for its top-end models, called Pacific Blue.

Battery: Like last year’s iPhones, the batteries in the iPhone 12 range pack a punch.

The iPhone 12 Mini has a 2,227mAh battery, while the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro have a 2,775mAh battery.

Finally, the iPhone 12 Pro Max features a huge 3,687mAh battery.

Price: The iPhone 12 range has similar starting price to last years iPhones.

The iPhone 12 Mini starts at $699, the iPhone 12 at $799, the iPhone 12 Pro at $999 and the iPhone 12 Pro Max at $1,099 .

Release date: The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro will be available for pre-order from October 16, and will hit Apple Stores on October 23 .

Unfortunately, the iPhone Mini and iPhone Pro Max will not be available until November, due to delays amid the coronavirus pandemic.
