Gosh! 193 Almajiris Test Positive To COVID-19 In Kano

A total of 193 Almajiris in Kano State were said to have tested positive to the deadly Coronavirus as the state discharged 19 patients on Thursday.
This was made known by Kano State Commissioner of Education and the Head of the State’s Committee on Rehabilitation of Almajiris, Sanusi Mohammed Kiru during the COVID-19 press briefing held on Thursday.Gosh! 193 Almajiri's Test Positive To COVID-19 In Kano
Sanusi noted that a total of 1860 Almajiri children were quarantined in three locations Gabasawa, Karaye and Kiru and at these locations, 193 of them tested positive. He note that 86 were found in Gabasawa Quarantine camp, 68 and 38 at the two other locations respectively.

He disclosed further that the state has so far repatriated 1,183 Almajirs to 7 other states in the region in line with the decision of the Northern Governors forum to end street begging in the region. He then expressed his happiness at the initiative to isolate the almajiris in the state, adding that state efforts at tackling the dreaded disease would have been worse off if they were allowed to continue to spread the disease in these communities.Photos Credit: Getty
