Elections: Foreign Experts In Nigeria Had No Knowledge Of Thugs, Manipulation, Vote-Buying — Shehu Sani

Senator Shehu Sani, a former lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central in the Nigerian Senate, has carpeted experts from Europe, the United States of America and others following the outcome of the 2023 general elections in Nigeria.

Senator Sani, in a tweet on Monday, said the foreign countries who mobilised their experts to Nigeria prior to the election to conduct trainings and lectures on election, had no knowledge of thuggery, manipulation and vote-buying in the country.

“Before the General elections,more than half of Abuja Hotels was booked by European,American and Canadian donor agencies and foundations;they brought their experts who gave all sorts of lectures & training on elections.They had no knowledge of thugs,manipulations & vote buying,” he said.

The Kaduna politician who is a vocal PDP sympathiser has come out to defend businessmen meeting politicians, no matter how unpopular it may be.

Photos circulating online showed Tinubu in his home on Wednesday with people criticizing the move. The comment became necessary when Tinubu met stylish billionaire, Tony Elemelu.

Recall that Tinubu was declared winner in the February 25th,2022 presidential election by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), polling 8,794,726 votes with Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Atiku Abubakar polling 6,984,520 votes and Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi polling 6,101,533 votes.

Atiku and Obi have dragged INEC to court for inefficiency and a possibility of compromise in the result that saw the former Lagos State Governor emerge winner of the election.

The former lawmaker took to his Twitter account to urge Nigerian to desist from speaking ill of the Nigerian economist and business tycoon.
