A 28-year-old shooter, Audrey Hale has been identified as the shooter who killed three 9-year-old students and three adults at private Christian elementary school in Nashville on Monday as she had maps of the school including writings and scouted a second possible attack location.

Hale stormed the Covenant school by shooting through a side door, possessing three firearms as reported by Metro Nashville Police Chief John Drake at a news conference.

Authorities reported that the first call about the shooting was at 10:13 a.m. and the shooter was dead at 10:27 a.m. according to police spokesperson, Don Aaron. He continued saying that as a private school operated by the church, no school resource officer assigned by the city to guard the school.

Hale fired multiple shots on the first and second floor of the school, police said. A five-man team of police officers after hearing the gunfire, went up to the second floor fatally shooting the suspect, Aaron said.

Drake went on to reveal that Hale already had “maps drawn of the school in detail, surveillance, entry points”.

“We some writings that we’re going over that pertain to this day, the actual incident,” Drake said. “We have a map drawn out of how this was all going to take place.”

The shooter was also looking at attacking other locations but gave up on the idea as they were too much security, according to Drake. The other planned locations were also in Nashville, he added.

At an evening conference, Police revealed Hale as the shooter adding that Hale was transgender. He reportedly used male pronouns on a social media profile.

Police believe Hale obtained at least two of the weapons legally, Drake said. She was in possession of three weapons, an AR-style rifle, an AR-style pistol and a handgun were found.
