Donald Trump is plotting to run for president again in 2024, White House aides say. The outgoing President of the United States is said to have discussed making a second run for the White House in four years, and could announce his plans after President-elect Joe Biden is formally certified as his replacement.
US presidents are limited to serving two terms, but these do not have to run consecutively, meaning Trump could return to office from 2025-2029 if he is successful. Biden, 77, has denied rumors he will only serve one term because of his age, while Trump will be 78 by the time of the next contest.

Axios reported that many Republicans are ‘dreading’ the prospect of another Trump run, after complaining he holds too much sway in their party.
Even if he decides not to run again, President Trump could act as a kingmaker for possible successors, with anyone keen to run as Republican nominee in 2024 likely to require his approval.
The president has furiously contested Biden’s victory over him in this year’s contest, and has made unfounded claims the election was beset by fraud. He has vowed to sue to try and remain in the White House, and has not spoken on camera since a poorly-received press conference last Thursday.
Trump won more than 71.4million votes, the second highest of any presidential candidate in history behind Biden, who has so far claimed 76.3million ballots. The president’s team point to those ballots as evidence of his continued popularity.
President Trump’s children Donald Jr and Ivanka are also considered possible successors, with the family reportedly keen to establish themselves as a political dynasty in the mold of the Kennedys or Bushes.
Don Jr has spoken out furiously against his dad’s defeat. But Ivanka has remained silent, amid claims she is her father’s favorite to replace him, and wants to launch her White House run with a clean slate.Photo Credit: Getty
