Chimamanda Adichie Becomes First Nigerian To Be Awarded Mary McCarthy Prize

Chimamanda, who is one of the most celebrated African writers, since the start of her career in 1997, has received over 16 awards. Since her publication of a collection of poems called Decisions, she has gotten more admiration through out the world.The impeccable Anambra born writer, was honoured with the McCarthy award according to SILVERBIRD. McCarthy award which is named after famous novelist Mary McCarthy is given in acknowledgement of engagement in the public sphere by an intellectual, artist, or writer.
