Check Out The Photos Of Notre Dame This Morning After The Fire Containment

Notre Dame Cathedral was gutted by fire yesterday, April 15 and all efforts were poured in to contain the incident. As of this morning, the fire seems to have been contained enough although it is expected to take several days to completely extinguish it. The building was hit badly as it has lost its towering spire and most of its roof. This incidence led to the loss of its roofing heritage which was central to French culture and history. Although the building bell towers are still intact, that side of its priceless heritage is gone forever. Apart from the bell towers, a large number of relics including Christ’s crown of thorns and St Louis’ tunic were saved from the raging fire. As of this morning, the building still stands and the French President Emmanuel Macron has vowed to rebuild the cathedral. He described it as the soul of the nation and expressed relief that “the worst had been avoided”. Photo Credit: Getty
