Finally! Zimbabwe Cast Their Vote After 37 Years Under Mugabe’s Shadow

Last year Mugabe bowed to the unprecedented change that took place in his government. This lead to him be ousted from office after nearly four decades in power.

But today the citizens of Zimbabwe will be voting in a new leader, and certainly Mugabe will not be in the picture. The main contenders to lead Zimbabwe forward after the election are  either incumbent Emmerson Mnangagwa, of the ruling Zanu-PF party, or opposition leader Nelson Chamisa. Their is an expectancy of a large turnout of voters. According to polls Mr Mnangagwa, might just have a slight edge ahead of his rival, who leads the MDC (Movement for Democratic Change) Alliance.
