Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo To Lead Negotiations With ASUU Over Ongoing Strike

Over two weeks ago, activities in over 80 institutions of higher learning across the country ground to a screeching halt following the strike action undertaken by the Academic Staff Union of University due to their demand for the full implementation of the 2009 agreements reached with the federal government bordering on improvement in welfare and payment of backlog of salaries and entitlements, among other issues.
New reports has it that Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo will now head negotiations with the union. According to Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, the Federal Executive Council (FEC) has assigned the Vice-President to henceforth chair the concluding part of the ongoing negotiations. Hopefully this new development will bring a satisfactory end to the strike action.
