Veteran Spanish Opera Singer Placido Domingo Contracts COVID-19

Veteran Spanish Opera Singer, Placido Domingo, has announced via his Facebook page that he has contracted the deadly novel COVID-19 disease. Placido Domingo

The 79-year-old, who is currently in Mexico has urged people to be “extremely careful” and follow basic guidelines on how to stay safe and how to prevent themselves from contracting the virus by also practising social distancing.
He went further to say he and his family are now self-isolating and even though he has fever and a cough he still feeling well.

He wrote: “I feel it is my moral duty to announce to you that I have tested positive for COVID19, the Coronavirus. My family and I are all in self-isolation for as long as it is deemed medically necessary. Currently, we are all in good health but I experienced fever and cough symptoms, therefore, deciding to get tested and the result came back positive.
I beg everyone to be extremely careful, follow the basic guidelines by washing your hands frequently, keeping at least a 6 feet distance from others, doing everything you can to stop the virus from spreading and please above all stay home if you can ! Together we can fight this virus and stop the current worldwide crisis, so we can hopefully return to our normal daily lives very soon. Please follow your local government’s guidelines and regulations for staying safe and protecting not just yourselves but our entire community,  Plácido Domingo.”

Domingo’s who was accused last year by multiple women of for sexual harassment and for abuse of power, during his time in management positions at the Los Angeles Opera and Washington National Opera. Domingo denied any wrongdoing but issued a letter of apology after the American Guild of Musical Artists and LA Opera found him guilty of harassment allegations against him to be credible.
