Travel: The World’s Most Visited Tourist Attractions

From the impressive Burj Khalifa in Dubai to the stunning Taj Mahal in India, here are the world’s most visited tourist attractions:
Great Wall Of China:
It’s fascinating how this wall has many twists and turns and how the steps are deliberately uneven, perhaps to slow down invaders. This man-made structure, which stretches over 13,000 miles from east to west, was completed during the Ming dynasty and draws over 10 million visitors a year.

Machu Picchu, Peru:
Machu Picchu is an Incan citadel set high in the Andes Mountains in Peru, above the Urubamba River valley. Built in the 15th century and later abandoned, it’s renowned for its sophisticated dry-stone walls that fuse huge blocks without the use of mortar, intriguing buildings that play on astronomical alignments and panoramic views.

Eiffel Tower, France:
The Eiffel Tower is a wrought iron lattice tower on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France. It is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower.

Burj Khalifa, Dubai:
The Burj Khalifa, known as the Burj Dubai before its inauguration, is a megatall skyscraper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. With a total height of 829.8 m (2,722 ft) including the antenna and a roof height of 828 m (2,717 ft), the Burj Khalifa is currently the tallest structure in the world since topping out in late 2008.

Taj Mahal, India:
The Taj Mahal is an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the south bank of the Yamuna river in the Indian city of Agra. It was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan, to house the tomb of his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
