Streets Of Lagos And Abuja Deserted As Lockdown Takes Effect

The FG’s total lockdown order of Lagos and the FCT kicked in today, the Lockdown which was Issued by President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday, March 29,  the shutdown which started from 11 pm on Monday, March 30th.

The shutdown which is meant to last for the next 14 days, has seen the streets of Lagos and Abuja unusually deserted as even transportation is restricted to only essentials alone, which are only Food vendors, Pharmacist and media house which are allowed to open and run.

Though the Order was placed on 3 states across the nation, which are Ogun State, Lagos and the FCT, Ogun state has had its own shutdown shifted till Friday, April 3rd before it takes effect. While Ogun state government postponed the lockdown directive, the police have blocked the inbound and outbound sections of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.  The total shutdown has seen citizens adhere to the stay at home order so far here we have been able to gathered images of some of the busiest routes in the states and they’re almost lifeless.

It is expected that health officials will identify, trace and isolate all individuals that have come into contact with confirmed cases within the 14-day total lockdown in the two states and the FCT.
