A 47-year-old lawyer, Udeme Odibi, threw residents of Diamond Estate in Sangotedo, Ajah, into shock when rumors that she stabbed her husband, Otike Odibi, to death, before cutting his private part off, went viral.
After killing her husband, Mrs. Udeme allegedly tried to commit suicide by stabbing herself.
According to Punch, Mrs. Udeme had threatened to stab her husband on Wednesday over a disagreement before she fulfilled her promise later on.
The late Otike was said to have informed a neighbour and his relatives about the threat via a phone call before he went to bed. The State Police Public Relations Officer, Chike Oti, confirmed the incident in a press statement. He said the couple had endured three years of marriage marred with domestic violence.
