Senate Entreat Federal Government To Fund Super Eagles With Recovered Loot

In its Tuesday meeting, the Nigerian Senate praised the heroic acts of the Super Eagles as they secured their place in next year’s World cup tournament.
While the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Sports Senator Obinna Ogba praised the Players for their exceptional display in the match against Zambia that won a spot for the Eagles in the global tournament, Senator Samuel Anyanwu of Imo East senatorial district raised a discussion on the persistent problem of under funding always faced by the players at international events like next year’s World cup.
Anyanwu suggested that the Federal government should used the funds recovered from corrupt politicians to fund the national team as they prepare for the tournament. In his reply on the issue, the Senate President (Sen. Bukola Saraki) upheld the need for early allocation of funds to the tournament to aid the players achieve the best possible result.
