Sanwo-Olu Announces Salary Increment For Civil Servants

The Lagos State Governor, Sanwo-Olu, has announced a salary increment for workers in the state public office.

Sanwo-Olu made this announcement on Tuesday during his courtesy visit to the Head, Office of Public Service in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.

Announcing the latest development, the Lagos State Senior Special Assistant On News Media, Jubril Gawat, stated that the governor is increasing the salary of the workers, majorly due to the rise in the price of major commodities in the country.

The governor in the video, urged the Lagos State workers to be steadfast, loyal to their state and carry out their responsibilities with the highest level of patriotism.

The move has however created multiple reactions from social media users. While some were full of praise for the governor, for coming to the aid of workers at this difficult period, others were not moved.

Some even query the timing of the announcement. They are of the opinion that the governor is using the increment as an indirect bribe to sway the mind of the people, towards the direction of the APC, at next year’s election.
