Ronke Oshodi Oke Speaks On High Divorce Rate, Says Nollywood Isn't A Reason
Endowed Nigerian actress Ronke Ojo-Anthony, popularly known as Ronke Oshodi Oke has dished out her piece on high rate of divorce ascribed to the Nollywood industry, emphasising that being an actor or actress is not a contributing factor to the situation.

The 45-year-old busty filmmaker, while speaking with Sunday Scoop, noted that failed marriage is not peculiar to the Nollywood industry but is a general situation that happens even to couples who are not in the industry. She said further that a crashed marriage is simply due to the partners falling out of love, having no feelings for each other again.Ronke Oshodi Oke Speaks On High Divorce Rate, Says Nollywood Isn't A Reason

“It is not because they are actors that their marriages crash. There is nobody that is insulated from what’s happening in the society at large. Generally, there are many marriages that don’t last. I have seen someone that was married for just two years and she left the marriage. It is not because one is an actress or an actor that one’s marriage would scatter; it is because that’s what is ‘reigning’ for now. It takes true love for anybody to remain in a marriage when the two partners no longer have feelings for each other“, she told Sunday Scoop.

She further defended the film industry as she moved on to talk about prostitution that is attached to the industry. She noted that defaulting people are not going into prostitution because they are actors, but because that is who they are, adding that they would do the same if they were not in the movie industry.Ronke Oshodi Oke Speaks On High Divorce Rate, Says Nollywood Isn't A Reason

She said, “People who do such things would still do it even if they weren’t in the industry. It is because that is who they are. Even if they are in another industry, they would act that way. The president once said that Nigerian youths are lazy. And that’s because everybody, including me, wants free money. Everyone wants to reap from where they didn’t labour.
