Reward For Integrity! Custom Officer Promoted For Rejecting $420K Bribe

Last year, Comptroller Bashir Abubakar, an officer with the Nigerian custom rejected $420,000 bribe given to him by a drug trafficking cartel. He was handed this in order to help hide the delivery of 41 smuggled containers of Tramadol, Abubakar vehemently refused to take the bribe.

He seized the consignment afterwards. Recently, the Controller General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ali (RTD) promoted Mr Abubakar from Comptroller of Apapa Area Command to an Assitant Comptroller General (ACG). Congratulations Mr Abubakar! Photo Credit: Getty
