Resume Now Or Face Sanctions, Kaduna Varsities Threatens ASUU

The management of Kaduna State University has warned the institution’s branch of the Academic Staff Union Of Universities to resume academic activities or face sanctions.

In a circular on Monday, signed by the university’s Registrar, Samuel Manshop, the university said it would invoke section 2(2) of the staff conditions of service if the lecturers failed the comply with the directives of resumption.

The statement read in part, “This is to convey the directive of the Governing Council that all academic staff should resume academic activities, especially the conduct of the Second Semester 2020/2021 Academic Session with effect from Monday, September 5, 2022.
“Refusal to comply with this directive will force the Council to invoke Section 2, Clause 2 (2) of the staff Conditions of Service revised edition 2018.

“All Provosts, Deans, Heads of Department and Units are hereby directed to compile and submit the names of complying staff.”

State schools and some federal schools are already opting out of the strike, with the ASUU chairman calling some of the school quacks. The schools in response called the association insensitive and self-centered with the sole aim of satisfying its ego without the interest of the student at heart.
