Red Bull Salzburg Wants £86m From Manchester United For Goal Sensation Erling Haaland

Manchester United will have to make Erling Haaland the second most expensive player in the club’s history should they wish to sign the striker.

The 19-year-old has bagged an incredible 23 goals so far this term and took his tally in the Champions League to seven with a goal against Napoli on Tuesday.

It means the teenager is just the second player behind Kylian Mbappe to score in four consecutive Champions League appearances. Haaland was given his first team debut by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as a 17-year-old at Molde and United are believed to be keen on signing the striker.

Erling, son of former Manchester City ace Alf-Inge, is also keen on move to the Premier League but Salzburg want €100m (£86m) before considering his departure. The club are well aware of the amount of suitors on the market for Haaland and United will be far from alone in bidding for his signature.

However, the speculation does not seem to be interesting Haaland as the teenager said the reports were ‘f*****g boring’. ‘The media attention is huge. It’s good pressure,’ said Haaland.

‘The club is good at shielding me a little, but I hope it will be more shielding in the future. It will be difficult, but we will try. I want to be shielded. It’s f*cking boring. I’m bored now. ‘How bored on a scale of 1 to 10? 9.9.’
