Olamide wants to speak for the people despite campaigning actively for APC in the previous election.
Rapper Olamide believes Nigeria can do better as he urged the present administration led by President Buhari to make their budget allocation transparent so that the people can easily follow the developments. “Nigeria we can do better I believe,” he tweeted. “If dem done release budget we want de get a notification and who dem award the contract to so when dem no do d work we fit locate dem go house make turn de start like this. Make we de see road.”
Olamide added that his campaign during the previous election doesn’t strip him of having the freedom to speak for his people. He explained: “I sing for last election no mean say I no go talk when the people no de happy. Everyone is important and should be heard, this is democracy ji masun.” On the SARS brutality, he concluded: “And ah beg make dem educate the bad eggs for SAR or make dem go de do farming.. we can’t rely on oil money only.” Musicians including Reekado Banks, Dr Sid, Mayorkun and more have shared terrible encounters with the security operatives.
