2023: 18 Political Parties To Sponsor 1.57 Million Polling Unit Agents

Ahead of the February/March general election, Nigeria’s 18 registered political parties have submitted about 1,575,689 agents to represent their interests at the various polling units across the country.

Nigeria has 176, 846 polling units, but only the ruling All Progressives Congress APC and the country’s main opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP alongside the Labour Party LP seem to have agents in over 95 percent of the polling units.

In related news, fuel marketers earlier in the day, warned Nigerians that the price of petrol could go as high as #00 per litre, if the federal government removes oil the oil subsidy.

Last year, Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed disclosed that the Federal Government would stop the payment of fuel subsidy by the end of June 2023.

While stressing the readiness of the FG to bring an end to subsidy regime in June, the minister recently called for the gradual withdrawal of subsidy on PMS.
