Ahead of the 2019 general elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will be holding a mega rally for defectors from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in November. This was disclosed by Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa state, who said the rally would formally receive APC defectors like the managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Ndutimi Alaibe, The Sun reports.
All Bayelsa politicians remaining in the APC were called upon by Governor Dickson to join the PDP.
The governor said: “I welcome you back home to your own party, which we all know that you are a founding member in this state. We are very happy to receive you all. I have been informed that this is a preliminary reception. “A big rally is planned for next month to receive you and your teeming supporters and to give you all the assurance that PDP is home to all our people, “For us, politics is about building, not destroying. It is about preserving life, not about killing or taking life, and not about making people miserable.
