ThisDay Newspaper has suspended two of its Deputy Editors indefinitely over the story published by the media outfit on Bishop David Oyedepo’s denial.
Recall that the story hit the social media space on Friday, claiming that the Living Faith Church aka Winners Chapel founder was denied US visa and that he had created a scene at the embassy. The US embassy, however, falsified the news, saying that it was fake. This got the media outfit dragged by Nigerians, including OAP Daddy Freeze, who rode on the news to mock the clergy.
Reacting to its dignity being dragged in the mud, ThisDay has the two deputy editors Messers Yemi Ajayi and Olawale Olaleye suspended till further notice. Read also:Â Oyedepo: We Will Build 10,000 New Churches In 2020
The newspaper management had investigated the publication and found that the two deputy editors failed to follow its well-established traditions of carrying out the necessary checks and confirmations expected of personnel of their status in a sensitive story of that nature.
