Osagie Aigbonohan: Nigerian Who Conned Terminally Ill Woman Out Of £10k Faces Years In Jail

A romance fraudster who conned a woman out of £10,000 and preyed on hundreds more faces jail.

Osagie Aigbonohan, 40, used the fake name “Tony Eden” to trawl for victims on dating websites and social media.

The Nigerian crook, who was in the UK illegally, even conned a terminally ill woman.

Aigbonohan struck up a ten-month relationship with one victim.

He persuaded her to lend him money for “business machinery” and she gave him nearly £10,000.

He took money from at least eight others and was in contact with more than 670 people in total.

Aigbonohan, of Abbey Wood, South East London, admitted fraud and money laundering at Southwark crown court.

He will be sentenced on January 14.

Dominic Mugan, of the National Crime Agency, said: “Romance fraud is particularly cruel.”
