OPay Donates 300,000 Face Masks To Ogun, Lagos

After announcing the closure of its business units in the nation, Nigeria’s online payment platform OPay has donated 300,000 face masks the frontline healthworkers in Lagos and Ogun States.
In a series of tweets via which the organisation made the movement known, it was stated that the donations is part of its recently announced 50 million naira fund set up to provide medical supplies to frontline health workers as well as relief support for the less privileged during the COVID-19 pandemic.OPay Donates 300,000 Face Masks To Ogun, Lagos
The organisation donated 100,000 face masks to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, 150,000 to the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board and 50,000 to Ogun State Hospital Management Board.

Speaking at the donation event, Ogun State Commissioner of Heath Dr Tomi Coker reportedly stated that the contribution will go a long way in supporting the State’s efforts to protect the frontliners. “This is a huge contribution that will go a long way to support our efforts to protect our frontline health care workers who are daily exposed to the risks that COVID-19 poses”, he was quoted to have said.OPay Donates 300,000 Face Masks To Ogun, Lagos
