Nigerian-born American-based family nurse Regina Askia has packed Nigerians in an examination hall and on the hot sit with a burning question to explain why there were no rantings and controversy on President Buhari’s son’s wedding as there were about Obi Cubana‘s mom’s burial.
Recall that Obi Cubana had buried his mom in grand style in July, and the event was later named the burial of the year. Concerns were raised left, right and centre about the rich show of wealth and affluence, starting from when his friends supported him with over 300 cows, rams, goats and millions of cash gifts.
President Buhari’s son, Yusuf, on the other hand, got married to Zahra, the daughter of the Emir of Bichi, Nasiru Ado Bayero in Kano State over the weekend. Their wedding, as expected, saw the cream of the Nigerian polity grace the occasion, top politicians and traditional rulers from across the country flew in, including several opposition figures, and of course, the national doings saw the presence of private jets and so much affluence.

Regina Askia didn’t see people criticising the event and she seems to be surprised. “There was a wedding in Nigeria this weekend, that put dollars and pounds to shame? Nobody said … pim! But when a man buried his mother, in a celebration of life, the world went gaga!!! Explain”, she wrote on Facebook.
