The Bayelsa state Governorship Election Tribunal sitting in Abuja has nullified the election of the state governor, Douye Diri, and has ordered INEC to conduct a fresh election within 90 days.
On Monday, August 17, a three-man panel of the tribunal dismissed the election. While two of the judges ruled for the nullification, one ruled against the move
The ruling was that the election was unjust and poorly conducted, due to the exclusion of Action Nigeria Democratic Party (ADP) and its candidate, King George from the governorship election.
