Ufuoma McDermott
Nollywood actress Ufuoma McDermott gave birth to her first child using the In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) procedure in 2012. The actress is happily married and blessed with two children today after she was reported to have lifted the lid on the usage of the In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF). Opening up on her struggle with fertility after giving birth, according to a report by ab-tc.om, Ufuoma McDermott said, “how the child was conceived does not matter as long as the woman gives birth to a healthy baby. I urge women to open their hearts and open their minds. there are many ways to become a parent. don’t deny yourself that joy and don’t deny that joy and love for that child”.Nse Ikpe-Etim
Another Nollywood actress Nse Ikpe Etim whose talent on the big screen never fails to leave a standing ovation behind is a woman of steel. She has one of the heartbreaking experiences among the celebrities with fertility issues as in 2016, she was diagnosed with Adenomyosis which ended up with her womb being removed. Speaking about it at a session ‘Conversation with Nse’ held in Lekki, she revealed that realizing that she can’t have children threw her into periods of depression. The ‘Jenifa’s Diaries’ star was reported to have attempted to conceive via In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) procedure several times. Popular media personality Stephanie Coker Aderinokun had challenges giving birth and as she was reported to have undergone the In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) to give birth. Stephanie Coker disclosed that she was diagnosed with Ovarian Hyper Stimulation Syndrome. She welcomed her child in November 2019 after getting married in 2017, and according to her, she opened up on her struggle with infertility because of how some women she met who had fertility challenges shared their experiences. Etinosa Idemudia
Instagram comedienne and popular Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia welcomed her first child in December 2020. The actress revealed how she lost several pregnancies within the 7 years of searching for a child. After she had her beautiful baby girl, Etinosa spoke about how she is a private person and though most people did not know about her pregnancy, her true friends and family knew she was pregnant. She disclosed that her pregnancy was high risk one but God saw her through as she was two months gone before she knew. The first time mum on her own journey to childbearing has some issues as she had to wait for seven years before having her first child. She advised awaiting mothers to take their minds off the issue and relax. “It is a tough advice that almost sounds crazy but that was the advice I got from my sister-in-law years ago”, Etinosa revealed. The Nollywood power couple took everyone by surprise when they announced the birth of their bouncing baby boy and celebrated his birth with a song Final Say by the happy father. Months later, the couple disclosed the struggles and issues they went through on their journey towards having a child. They revealed that they had once had a shrinking embryo with a set of twins which left them brokenhearted. Moving on they even did IVF which also failed. Putting their faith in God and depending on the word of God while partaking in the famous Nathaniel Bassey Halleluyah challenge, they finally got their miracle baby.
