Nigerian Army Arrest Herdsmen Caught Destroying Farmlands In Benue State

The effort of the Nigerian army to curb criminals and to protect farmers in Benue state is yielding great and satisfactory result, as the troops of sector 1 sub-sector A, deployed at Yelwata arrested 10 herdsmen caught destroying farmlands in Benue state.
The troops caught the herdsmen while patrolling Tse-Tigir and Tse-Ndugh villages in Benue state on Monday 26 February 2018. The director of army public relation Bregadier General Texas Chukwu confirmed this report saying that “the herdsmen while in the act of the destroying the farmland sighted the aggressive troops and fled into the bush. The determined troops pursued and arrested them”.
He further stated that two machet, five motorcycles, some assorted charm and the sum of N120,000 were recovered from the suspect.
Chukwu stated that the Nigerian army is determined to fish out criminals and recover weapons used in killing innocent citizens. He encouraged the public to cooperate and support the army in the ongoing exercise.
