The senate President Ahmed Lawan today revealed that the country looses a total of 29 billion dollars due to the power failure in the country. The senate president said over the years huge amount of money have been spent on the country’s power sector but no tangible result has been seen.

Lawan revealed that over 1.8 trillion dollars have been spent and it is time to call for a probe of the sector to find out what is happening there.” So, for us in the National Assembly, particularly in the Senate, we have been very concerned. I believe that we all understand how Nigeria has remained undeveloped, especially when we are talking about manufacturing, empowering our artisans, the vulcanisers, the barbers. Nigeria cannot be competitive.’’
