NAFDAC Raises Alarm On Fake COVID-19 Vaccines

The National Agency For Food And Drug Administration Control (NAFDAC) has raised alarm over the spread of fake COVID-19 vaccine. The organisation warned Nigerians to refrain from procuring the vaccine online to avoid falling into the wrong hands.

NAFDACIt encouraged citizens to raise alarm on any persons involved in the procurement of fake COVID-19 vaccines in the country. The Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof Mojisola Adeyeye, issued the warning in a statement by its Resident Media Consultant, Sayo Akintola. She said, “The public must be on the lookout for these spurious and counterfeit vaccines and other regulated products.

Recall that a few days ago the DG of the agency assured Nigerians that they were no side effects to the use of the Astrezeneca COVID-19 vaccine. She noted that there was no medicine without its side effect, especially when still going through the developmental stage.The director-general said that from all indications of quality and efficacy, the benefit of AstraZeneca vaccine outweighs the risk and the side effect.
