American activist, television personality and fashion designer Monica Lewinsky as made another round in the news as she hinted on how flashing her thong got her the attention of former US President Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton had previously admitted to having what he themed “inappropriate relationship” with Lewinsky while she worked at the White House in 1995–1996. The affair and its repercussions including Clinton’s impeachment became known as the Clinton–Lewinsky scandal. Lewinsky gained international celebrity status as a result of the political scandal and subsequently led to her engagement in a variety of ventures that included designing a line of handbags under her name, being an advertising spokesperson for a diet plan, and working as a television personality.In the wake of Clinton’s impeachment, Lewinsky made some public appearances like appearing on Saturday Night Live in 1999 and briefly hosting a dating show in 2003. She however retreated from public life in 2005 after been mocked and vilified in the press, with one Fox News poll asking if she was an “average girl” or a “young tramp looking for thrills”. Over the years, Lewinsky went to London to pursue a master’s degree in psychology and has emerged as a powerful spokesperson on power, consent, and the MeToo campaign. The former White House intern is finally having her moment in the upcoming A&E docuseries, “The Clinton Affair,” where she shares new details about her time in the White House including how her exposed underwear that got the president’s attention then. The  docuseries about the scandal premiers on Sunday at 9 pm Eastern on A&E, and “It’s titled The Clinton Affair. Bye-bye, Lewinsky scandal. … I think 20 years is enough time to carry that mantle,” she said.         Photo Credit: Peoples Magazine and New York Post
