LaToya Jackson alleged her monster father Joe Jackson began sexually abusing her “very badly” when she was just 11-years-old. The singer made the revelations back in the early 90s shortly before she slammed her superstar brother Michael Jackson for “sleeping with little boys.”
It’s no secret that amateur boxer Joe, who was also the manager of the family pop group The Jackson Five, used to sadistically batter his young children. But little is known about the alleged sexual abuse which LaToya claims she and her older sister Rebbie suffered at the hands of their twisted father – who died last year aged 89. In her 1991 memoir, the singer, now aged 62, claimed her mother Katherine knew her father sexually abused her and her sibling.
She wrote: “When your father gets out of bed with your mother and gets into bed with his daughter and you hear the mother saying, ‘No, Joe, not tonight. LaToya on dealing with the alleged sexual abuse “Let her rest. Leave her alone, she’s tired,’ that makes you crazy.” And while promoting the book, LaToya appeared on US talk show Live with Regis and Kathie Lee and spoke further of the molestation she allegedly suffered as a child. She said: “There wasn’t just physical abuse there was also mental abuse which is very disturbing and also sexual abuse.” LaToya said the alleged rapes carried out by Joe forced her sister Rebbie to leave home when she was 16-years-old. Asked if her father Joseph sexually abused her, LaToya said: “Yes he did, very badly.”
She then said the abuse started when Rebbie left home – which meant LaToya was aged 11 when her father allegedly targeted her. When asked if sister Janet Jackson was ever molested by Joe, LaToya said: “I don’t know. She’s never spoken about it. I certainly hope he didn’t.” Speaking of her own experience, she said: “It began with me when Rebbie left. “You live with this as if you’re doing something wrong and you’re frightened. And you’re embarrassed. I’ve been embarrassed all my life to ever talk about it, to mention it.” She agreed that the Jackson family have been “living a lie.” In 1993, LaToya claimed her mother Katherine suspected her son Michael of child abuse YEARS before the first allegations were made against him. In the early 90s, the Jackson family claimed that LaToya’s husband Jack Gordon had forced her to make the allegations against her brother and father for financial gain. LaToya eventually reconciled with her family and withdrew the allegations. Michael Jackson strongly denied all allegations of sexual abuse made against him.
