A celebrity everyone looked forward to seeing, immediately we heard camp, we thought Lady Gaga! A star who was born to showcase what camp truly is about, give Gaga a fashion dare and watch her step up to the challenge with her shoulders raised her. It was obvious Gaga owned the show with her four different camp outfits. Talk about the campiest of the camps! This year’s Met Gala show was themed “Camp Notes on Fashion” and trust Gaga to walk in as the teacher. Susan Sontag in her 1964 essay ‘Notes on Camp’ defined camp as the “the spirit of extravagance” aka OTT, aka extra sauce and guess who has a major degree in extra? Her name literally says, Gaga! First revealing her voluminous hot pink caped gown featuring a mega-long train that cascaded down the Met steps, Lady Gaga brought her A-game to the carpet. Removing the pink gown, she revealed another black outfit underneath and continued to peel off her all her outfits designed by Brandon Maxwell, layers by layers until she revealed black shimmery underwear with extremely high heels. She topped her looks with a doll-like makeup and extremely long gold eyelashes, a hot pink bow and her hair styled into mini bows for extra effect.
