The new Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle’s half-sister Samantha has lashed out at the Duchess of Sussex’s new coat of arms – saying it looks like it has been “drawn by someone in kindergarten”.
The American also claimed her father Thomas Markle Sr should be named on the emblem, slamming the Royal Family as “classless” for leaving him out.
In her bitter Twitter rant, Samantha Markle said it was an “empty” coat of arms, saying it seemed to have been “thrown together”. Taking to social media, Samantha wrote: “Extremely improper that my father was not named on the coat of arms, and quite frankly it looks like it was drawn by someone in a kindergarten classroom. Our father is American but we have ties in the family tree to royalty in several places according to the college of arms.”
She added: “Our dad and even her mom are not represented there. It is an empty coat of arms so it makes no sense.”
The half-sister of Meghan has become increasingly vocal on Twitter after the US actress tied the knot with Prince Harry in what many have called the wedding of the year. Meghan and Samantha’s father Thomas Sr had been unable to walk the bride down the aisle, having to instead undergo heart surgery.
He had thrown the wedding plans into chaos just days before the ceremony, saying he wouldn’t attend the wedding after it was revealed he had posed for staged paparazzi photographs.
While Meghan released a statement saying she had “always cared” for her father, she has continued to receive criticism by her estranged family members for appearing to not do enough to support the 73-year-old recluse.
