Marcus Rashford Takes Swipe At Jose Mourinho About Manchester United And It’s Epic

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has taken a dig at Jose Mourinho by claiming the club are ‘back to normal’ after three years of instability.

Mourinho was sacked last December after two-and-a-half-years at Old Trafford. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was given the job on an interim basis before being confirmed on a full-time basis following a sensational start in his new role.

The Norwegian has already put his stamp on the side by getting rid of Marouane Fellaini, Ander Herrera and Romelu Lukaku and replacing them with Daniel James, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire.

The playing style has also changed and Rashford, in a dig at Mourinho, says the atmosphere is far better now at the club as they’re back to ‘normal’.

‘When a manager gets a pre-season, that’s where they make changes and the whole team is 100 per cent changed, especially off the ball,’ Rashford said. ‘We’re definitely pressing more. In the past, we didn’t quite grasp it. Against top players you’ll get picked off. Winning – but the way we win is important to me. What we want is to play Manchester United football, attacking, free-flowing, fast. If you lose the ball, you win it back.

‘He [Solskjaer] has brought stability. In the past three years, you were never sure about anything. Now we have stability. Everyone’s in a good mood, a good place. It’s a completely different environment to what it has been, it feels back like normal. We really want to test ourselves now against the best in the league.’

After signing a new five-year deal earlier this summer, the upcoming season looks like a defining one for Rashford following Lukaku’s departure. The 21-year-old was made first choice striker after Solskjaer’s appointment and he’ll be looking to better the 13 goals he managed last term, which is his best in a campaign to date.
