Manchester United Missing 10 Players To Injury Ahead Of Epl Game Against Crystal Palace

Manchester United could have up to 10 players missing through injury for Wednesday’s trip to Crystal Palace. United lost Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard to injury in the first half of Sunday’s goalless draw with Liverpool – forcing Marcus Rashford to play the remainder of the match with an ankle problem. Nemanja Matic and Anthony Martial both missed the draw at Old Trafford, while Phil Jones, Matteo Darmian and Antonio Valencia have also been unavailable. Mason Greenwood, 17, is also currently sidelined and United’s caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits his options are limited for the midweek trip to Selhurst Park. “We’ve not had a session yet, so I don’t think there are a lot of positives, no,” said Solskjaer. “I don’t know the list [of players] that’s supposed to be injured, Matteo [Darmian] trained the other day. I don’t think he’ll be ready. “[Marcos] Rojo will be involved. Rashford we’re still waiting to see how his ankle is responding to the treatment, muscle injuries are too early to think about. That’s it. “Phil was ill one of the days last week, so he’s been out for a little while as well with an illness. “Luckily at centre-back, there are quite a few fit ones, Victor [Lindelof], Chris [Smalling] and Eric [Bailly], the three of them are ready.”  Lingard was brought on to replace Mata midway through the first half against Liverpool but was substituted shortly before the break after appearing to aggravate a muscle injury. Solskjaer admits he may have rushed the England international back to action too soon and insists he will not make the same mistake with Martial, who is still recovering from a groin problem. “Martial is not going to be ready for this one either,” said Solskjaer. “We can’t risk it. Maybe Southampton but we are not going to risk another one. “In hindsight, you could maybe say Jesse was eager, but he had ticked all the boxes in training, done the recovery work and rehab. “Maybe it was a couple of days too early but then again it was Liverpool and he was desperate to be a part of it.” Solskjaer has called on Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez to step up and fill the void left by Rashford, Martial and Lingard. “It is a chance for them to play to their potential,” said Solskjaer. “Reputation is one thing but their potential is high. “The two of them are good mates, they link up well together, so this might be a chance for them two together to find some form and give us a selection headache for when everyone is fit again.” Photo Credit: Getty
