Nigerian lawmaker representing Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal constituency in Oyo State, Oloye Akin Alabi has sent out some factual words to Nigerians home and abroad, revealing how one can build and invest in one’s passion.
In a post he shared on the Nigeria-banned Twitter, Oloye Akin Alabi stated that one’s passion is not necessarily what will bring one’s income or livelihood, using Africa’s Richest man, Aliko Dangote as a case study.
According to him, only lazy people think it is the passion that will bring livelihood. Adding that he can bet that Dangote is not passionate about cement, which is the topmost manufacture he is known for, Akin Alabi then stated that one may do a business one is not passionate about in order to make the money to fund the passion. Going on to advise that people make money and then spend it on their passion and charity, Akin Alabi further referenced Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos.

“I can do a business I am not passionate about to make money so I can feed myself and my family. I can then use the money to fuel my passion. It is not compulsory that it is my passion that will bring in my livelihood. Only lazy people think like that. I can bet it that Dangote is not passionate about cement. Make your money, then spend it on your passion and charity. See Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos going to space. Money first, then spend on passion. Peace!”, he wrote.
